This is quite an interesting topic to talk about, isn’t it? Most lazy people probably at one point in their lives would say, “I couldn’t walk a mile without feeling dizzy.” They might also have sarcastically said that they are allergic to exercises. Surprisingly, this actually turns out to be true, and there’s one rare condition in which a person can be allergic to exercise. Not just that, this allergy could also lead to death. This disorder is known as Exercise-Induced Anaphylaxis.

In general, allergies have many symptoms, some of them are mild, but some may be deadly. To our luck, a fatal allergy known as anaphylaxis is very rare to happen. It affects 2% of the world’s population. Exercise-Induced Anaphylaxis is present only in 5%-15% of all those cases with anaphylaxis. Another fact is that women are more prone to have it than men.
Important facts to know
It’s important to know that anaphylaxis symptoms can be results of exercising allergy, but the exercise itself is not the only cause of this reaction. Typical reasons for allergy are food, medicines, and pollens when combined with the exercise routine, and they may result in allergy or even anaphylaxis. Among these, anaphylaxis because of food-dependent exercise is the most commonly found. It accounts for a total of one-third and one-second of all EIA cases. Usually, your body can handle allergic food, and it can also manage exercise allergy. Still, when both are combined, they can give over-reaction to the immune system- which can be dangerous.
So, coming back to the big question, can someone be allergic to exercise? Well, the answer is yes! You can get allergic to exercise too. Always keep a check if you are allergic to exercise, if not, good! But keep a check to see and notice such allergic symptoms in yourself as well as other people around you. Be careful when exercising and eating meals according to your exercise. Always go for a regular check-up with your doctor.
